Grand Goave / $115,000

Construct new worship facility.  Just last year we were averaging nearly 800 for Sunday morning services.  Now, with the fantastic effort Pastor Lavaud and our other church leaders and members have put forth, our building is bursting at the seams.  By this year’s end we expect a significant increase in attendance.  There has been “standing room only”.  Great numbers are naming Jesus as their personal savior and being baptized into Him.  This is a high priority project.

Includes anything from furnishings to privacy walls.  It’s always difficult to “find” dollars for these kinds of projects.

This is a far reaching project that will change, add and/or remodel several different areas:

• Remove old outhouses/showers and add new restroom facilities

• Update laundry area with new sinks, concrete floors, etc.

• Upgrade and add too plumbing and electrical

• Remodel former kitchen into nursery

• Add new dorm room for older girls

• Remodel sewing and ironing room

Cost: $18,000 (US dollars)

Complete upgrade with new electrical work, plumbing, mosaic tile flooring, windows, doors, restrooms (didn’t have before) and two dental stations.   New equipment including exam tables, chairs desks, etc.

This is especially needed to facilitate increased supplies in conjunction with our very successful Peanut Butter Drive and Kids Helping Kids food project.  We praise God to have these lifesaving foods available now and have to responsibly protect and store them prior to distribution. 

Cost: $14,000 (US dollars)

This area will be developed in the space between the shop and vocational building.  We’ve already put in the large concrete slab and have begun utilizing it for working on vehicles, etc.  Additional monies are to put in some partial walls, doors and a roof (sometimes it’s awfully wet and hot working outside in Haiti). 

Cost: $5,000 (US dollars)

A garden area will be developed in front of the school and office complex entrance that will include a Reception Area Waiting Room.  It will be a grass roofed, open and walled building similar to our Children’s Hut. 

Cost: $4,000 (US dollars)

One for each entrance:  These will replace the “temporary” plywood shelters that are ugly and haven’t really been very good protection for our gatemen who man the gates 24 hours each day. 

Cost: $3,000 each (US dollars)    

It’s great to have finally finished our computer lab!  Now we have to equip it.  We need 13 computer systems - including monitors, desks and chairs.

We’re looking ahead.  Our 20+ vehicles in Haiti are serving us well but we can see a coming need for another 4-wheel drive pick-up truck in the very near future.
