Guatemala is a predominantly poor country that struggles in several areas of health and development, including infant, child, and maternal mortality, malnutrition, and literacy. The country's large indigenous population is disproportionately affected. Guatemala is the most populous country and has the highest population growth rate in Latin America. Almost half of Guatemala's population is under age 19, making it the youngest population in Latin America.

Lifeline's ministry in Guatemala began in 2013.
With a vision to expand into Guatemala, the Lifeline leaders in Central America and the U.S. developed Roots, which partners U.S./Canadian churches with a Lifeline international church plant. This partnership allows U.S./Canadian churches to expand their outward focus and build a realtionship with their supported church and community. The supported churches, families, children, and leaders are blessed by this partnership, which provides spiritual growth (for both the Guatemalan church and the partner church) and physical resources.
Roots - your church can invest in a church, the children, families and the community. Partnerships are customized to meet your outreach/mission goals, while ensuring that your church and the field church are both blessed through the experience. Opportunities may include child sponsorships, church development, and relationship building through mission trips.
Keep the leaders in your prayers because this is a new church and the Latin American people are wary of new things.
Pray for the church and sponsors connected with this Guatemalan church and community. Pray also for these relationships to grow deeper and lives to be transformed by Christ.
