From 1961 through 1986 Gretchen, a licensed practical nurse, was employed by a physician in Columbus, Ohio. She began her career as a "gal Friday" and throughout her tenure advanced to General Manager over two large medical clinics. She worked in the areas of nursing, health care management, personnel director and advisor to the administrator. From 1980 through 1986 Gretchen also worked part-time with Lifeline as office manager and Lovelink Coordinator. In 1987 she became full-time continuing the work in these areas with Lifeline's ministry. Gretchen's responsibilities require her to spend five to six months per year in the foreign field overseeing the sponsorship work, leading Work Crusades Teams and directing the medical outreach ministries. Her love for the children in Lifeline's Haitian and Honduran Christian Schools allows her much joy and satisfaction as she witnesses the young people accepting Christ and being baptized into His body.
