History of
Omoa:
In
2005, we were asked to assume the responsibility of owning
and operating an orphanage in Omoa, Honduras for young ladies
ages 3 through 20 years old.
The work was founded by Dennis and Nora Suisse (assisted by
Dean Cary) in 1991, and known as the “Caribbean Christian
Orphanage & Outreach”.
Included is the
transfer of all assets consisting of accounts, orphanage
land and facilities, church land and facilities, several
vehicles and etc. Assets are unencumbered and valued at
several hundred thousand dollars.
Lifeline’s
Board of Directors met and prayerfully considered the
various pros and cons. As always, the first objective was
to be in God’s perfect will, to the best of our ability. It
was next determined that with His apparent leading, if
certain conditions and concerns prevailed, we would accept
the aforementioned responsibilities.
Much research
and planning continued, as did notifications and support
inquiries to existing CCO&O contributors. ...God is soooo
good; He opened doors and answered prayers! We are now
pleased to report that:
-
The property and real
estate transfers were completed October 27, 2005.
-
Regular church services
resumed in September and are going very well.
-
Pastor Antonio Orellana
(wife Maya) will serve as Orphanage Administrator.
He graduated from Colegio Biblico and is also pastor of our Ocotillo
congregation.
-
Pastor Carlos Cojon
and wife Paty will serve as house parents and
pastor. Carlos is a graduate of Colegio Biblico and Central
America Mission with accounting and orphanage
administration experience.
We covet your
prayers; please pray for: the precious girls,
staff, new personnel, building relationships, continuing support and, of course, the
development of an effective and Godly program to serve His
precious children in Honduras. Thanks for your concern,
support and prayers!
