Rebuild & Renovate Lifeline's Schools

 

The Need:

• 2008 was a year of tremendous loss for the Haitian people of material possessions, animals  and buildings  due to the 4 hurricanes that ravaged Haiti.

• Lifeline has 12 Christian Schools and most all of them suffered some structural damage but 3 of them suffered the worst loss: Vieux Cayes, Laregal, and Desbarriers

The Plan:

To rebuild 3 schools and renovate 9 more

• Vieux Cayes= Has already been rebuilt; still need another classroom there though; not a top priority; 300 students approx; total cost for one module (2 rooms) $3,000.00.p>

• Laregal=Build a total of 4 classrooms (2 dual modules); furnish new teacher desks (8), student benches (20); a single bench/desk can seat 3 students; and build and paint chalk boards (8); 300 students approx.; total cost about $6,000.00

• Desbarriers=Almost start from scratch; the entire facility is in very poor condition and there are dirt floors and no classrooms beyond using the church structure; severe rains and wind have destroyed much of the facilities already; 600 students approx; need 8 classrooms (4 dual modules); furnish the school with teacher desk (10); 60 student desks; total cost about $12,000.00  

Other Details:

• Photos will be taken and provided to donors.

• Group or individuals can “adopt” a school and help in phases but starting with constructing one 2 room module @ $3000.00

• Desks and benches are at a cost of about $100.00 U.S. for one; all-steel units, made in Lifeline’s metal shop.

• To construct one dual class module=$3000.00

• To furnish with teacher desk, chalk board and student desks for each class (single class)=$1500.00; dual class $3000.00
