Blessings in disguise

Written by Audra Norman, Lifeline’s Connections Manager

As Lifeline rolled into 2018 with a new partnership in Ecuador, I was unsure of what lay ahead. My natural tendencies cause me to put the brakes on until I can see how the big picture works. I knew I had to go and see it for myself!

After spending a week in Ecuador, I can honestly say that I'm returning with all of the joy and confidence in knowing that Rey Sabio Solomon School is blessing children's lives for Christ!

One of the most heartwarming and tearful moments for me was to witness a full student worship band, leading 180 children in worship, lifting their hands to Jesus during chapel. I had tears of joy as I witnessed God moving!

The staff at the school there are incredible. They serve as role models for the students, teach with excellence and love the children like Jesus loves them.

It is evident that the children are growing in their faith, and they are bringing that home to share with their families. I also witnessed the love of a sponsor in a child's life. The relationships that formulate over time between a child and sponsor is always priceless to witness.

I was blessed to help 5 new mission team members connect with children while our team served in Ecuador. Our team observed how donor commitments are supporting a safe haven and place of quality Christian education for these students. This school is growing because God is blessing it!

There is so much beauty in Ecuador: from the people to the colorful city of Quito, from the lush mountains to the snow-capped volcanoes, and from these precious students to the clouds that dipped through the valley as if the Holy Spirit himself were visiting door to door.

The history of Ecuador is rich with pride and beauty. God's creation is magnificent and I do hope that you get to experience visiting this amazing place to see all that God is doing there someday! Once you meet the children and people, a piece of your heart will be left in Ecuador.

I know that I may have come into this with hesitation, but I believe that God has brought this school to Lifeline as a blessing in disguise. This school is making a visible difference in it's community and the students have such a heart to see lives impacted for Christ.

Their prayer is for their community to know Christ...they know that he is the only answer for the challenges they face. They understand what their mission is.

Please join me in praying for the ministry in Ecuador, for the administration and staff of Rey Sabio Solomon, for the local church, and for the children. We have an opportunity to walk alongside them and impact lives for eternity!

Looking forward to seeing all God has in store for this ministry!

You can connect with this new ministry!
