My name is Marlene.

I want to share my story about what led me to become a Christian… 

I was born in an extremely poor family and growing up, I was far from living a Christian life. I did many wicked things before the eyes of the Lord.

From a lack of educational background, I unwillingly became pregnant, giving birth to a boy. I felt really exasperated because I was not geared up to be a mother at that time.

By knocking on different doors, I found Lifeline Christian Mission.

There was a doctor there who was preaching about “forgiveness.” I remember these tremendous phrases he said that would change my life forever…

“His plan for you isn’t in the past, it's in the future,” he continued, “Christians are a new creation through Christ who automatically emancipates you from whatever past you have originated in.”

Those powerful words brought relief to my heart and now I know that my baby was a blessing to me and by him, my life was brought to Christ.

That exact same week my life was saved. I give thanks to God for setting Lifeline Christian Mission in Haiti not only to help with physical needs, but also to share the gospel with many other people who are lost in the wilderness and need to surrender their lives to Christ.

Marlene is one of many moms who struggle each day to provide for their families. Lifeline's health care clinics in Haiti walk alongside these moms to help provide nutritious foods for their babies and young children. And as you saw in Marlene's story, the love and forgiveness of Jesus is a huge part of the ministry, as the moms are ministered to.
