Arizona
Our students were in for a big surprise the first day of school! One Day Closer Ministries collected and donated a trailer full of school supplies: backpacks, crayons, paper, and so much more. The staff and students were blessed beyond measure by their generosity!

Yves, our assistant principal in Grand Goave Christian School, shared that about 90% of the students came to school the first day. This might seem unremarkable by American or Canadian standards, but 4 years ago, only 25% would come for the first week and full attendance would not be reached until the end of the first month. This created a difficult learning environment. But due to the hard work of our Haitian staff working alongside our Education Task Force, education in our Haitian schools continues to improve!
El Salvador
Tepecoyo and San Julian Christian Churches are reaching out to the children in their communities through fun Bible classes, games and activities! Please pray for their continued outreach events, as they share God's love in their communities.
Haiti
For students, the first day of school brings excitement and nervousness all wrapped together. Our staff in Haiti share that it's been a great start to a new year of school!

Note: A few days of school were cancelled due to Hurricane Irma looming in the Caribbean (Haiti experienced heavy rains, but no damage), yet that did not damper the students' spirits when they returned to school!

Our schools in Honduras also celebrated Children's Day, which is a national holiday. It was a fun day where the teachers and middle and high school students hosted a celebration for the elementary students. We love the passion and care shown by the older students to create such a fun and engaging day for the younger kids! View pictures.
Panama
High in the mountains of Panama, there is a vibrant church in the Guaymi tribe who is sharing God's love. Because of your donations, leadership seminars enable these local church leaders to gain resources, confidence, and support to transform their communities for Christ! Thank you!
United States
Generosity describes you! Many of you donated towards Hurricane Harvey relief, while others came out to package nutritious and delicious rice & bean meals. Thank you for helping families in Needville, Texas!
