Sponsorship Updates - May 2019

Because you gave your time, prayers, and/or donations, Christ's love is being expressed around the world!

Arizona update May 2019
Arizona

Written by Barb Snyder, Arizona Scholarship Manager

“The month of April was a very busy time around Red Sands Christian School. We celebrated with our academic archers! Lahannah went to the National Archery Tournament in Salt Lake City, which is a huge accomplishment! Archery is a big part of what we do here at Red Sands Christian School and we couldn't do it without our excellent coach Brian Schultz!

Another fun adventure for April was our Spring Musical "Camp Run-A-Mok." The kids sang and acted their way beautifully through this show! It was a great night with over one hundred friends and family here to support the children.”

Ecuador update May 2019
Ecuador

Written by Claudia Meerkaemper, Sponsorship Coordinator for Ecuador

“During this school year, our physical education teacher, Yesenia, coached a soccer team from our school. In the league we are in, there are a lot of secular public schools. Our soccer team did not have the best start of the season. We lost the first game 0-9. After this game, the team was tired but they did not feel discouraged, they were happy to have played.

Before each game, our team prays and puts the game into the hands of Jesus, which has caused more laughter from other teams. However, our team says it is ok, that it did not bother them because they know who they are and that they play for the glory of God!

The testimony of these children deeply touched the life of Yesenia who has grown in her relationship with Jesus and in her faith through the children’s faith.

And I want to add that we finished the championship in third place, earning the respect of the other schools. God always surprises us and teaches us!”

El Salvador update May 2019
El Salvador

Written by Mayandy Preza, Sponsorship Coordinator for El Salvador

“The children of San Julian enjoyed a biking event together. The kids had so much fun, and the parents were grateful for how it all turned out! The children of Chalchuapa recently enjoyed playing with bubbles. They had so much fun dancing and laughing. We thank God for them and for you!”

Guatemala update May 2019Guatemala

Written by Yocelyn Rojas, Sponsorship Coordinator for Guatemala

“We celebrated Mother’s Day on May 10. This date is very special for everyone here since we love and respect these special women that the Lord gave us. On Sunday, the children made crafts for their mothers. The above twins, Kimberly Paola and Kimberly Elizabeth, made giant roses and knew it would be a very special gift for their mom to whom they love a lot and have a lot of great respect and admiration for!”

Haiti update May 2019Haiti

Flag Day is a celebration that occurs on May 18 each year to rejoice in the culture and heritage of the Haitian flag.

Last week in Grand Goave, people young and old dressed in their red and blue attire and paraded through the streets singing and dancing!

What joy and pride they have for their country!
