What would you do to save your child?

What would you to save your child?

That was the question in the mind of the recent parents of triplets in Petit Goave, Haiti...

In Haiti, many families who have twins or triplets are left unable to feed all of the babies. Mothers, no matter how healthy, struggle to produce enough milk for more than one baby. Without the help of infant formula, which is scarce and expensive in Haiti, the families often are only able to support one of the babies.*

This was the reality facing the triplets' parents: find a way to feed all three babies or choose one baby....

Triplet Family

Desperate for a way to provide for all three of their new babies, they searched throughout Petit Goave for an organization that could help them.
They connected with a school who's director joined them in their search.

Touched by the parent's struggle, the director began searching for a nutrition program for the family. Eventually, a plea on social media for help led her to Lifeline where she was able to connect the family with our clinic. The director arranged a visit our clinic for the family. Once there, the babies were evaluated and added to our Infant Nutrition Program!

At last the parents found peace, knowing they would be able to feed all three of their beautiful babies!

Each week as a part of Lifeline's nutrition program, the family of the triplets will receive infant formula and cereal. The babies are also weighed and evaluated to ensure that they are growing strong and healthy!

Because of your generosity, you provided an answer to the hardest question for a parent. Thank you for ensuring that hundreds of babies are well fed and healthy thanks to the nutrition program!

*Gretchen, our Co-Founder and Health Care Director explains more about twins in Haiti:

"
Twins pose an additional challenge on struggling Haitian families and early on in the ministry, we would see one of the twins die.  So we began to automatically accept all twins/multiple births in the nutrition program to supplement the mother's breast milk.

It has been a major transition in Haiti to see these twins/multiple births survive and grow physically!  But these families are also impacted spiritually, as they hear God's Word each time they visit, and be part of our sponsorship program where they are impacted spiritually through the love of a generous sponsor.

We praise God for providing the resources to serve these women and their precious babies!"
