When anyone in the community needs medical laboratory testing, they must travel to San Pedro Sula. But this is not a simple process! It takes 1+ hour to get to the city by bus, registration at the clinic, waiting for the test, the actual test time, and then 1+ hour to get home. That's a whole day of lost work for families who need that income! Then to get the results, patients have to travel back to the city and do it all over again...it's another day of work lost!
What does this mean? Children and adults forego needed medical laboratory testing because of the added expense of going to the city.

Lifeline's clinic in Ocotillo has the capacity to start a medical testing lab. Start up costs to get the lab up and running is $15,000. Your donation provides the necessary lab space and equipment to run almost 30 different medical tests!
Thus, medical conditions can be treated before they turn into major problems!
Another advantage: the lab will be modeled to be self sustaining. Staff salaries and operations will be covered by lab fees. The clinic will charge patients much less than what they would pay if they went into the city for the testing.
