Congratulations Graduates!

Lifeline’s first graduating class at Rey Sabio Salomon Christian School was one to remember! The graduation ceremony was completely online via Zoom video call with groups of family and friends crowded around their phones and computers to join the celebration. Our 11 graduates and their proud parents were so excited!
Each student shared posters they'd created about what they were taking away from their school experience. Many were emotional as they thanked their family and teachers. They received certificates, received face masks featuring the school logo, took pictures and even tossed their caps in the air. The virtually reimagined ceremony was a beautiful celebration!
Everyone was dressed in their best, their homes were decorated with streamers, balloons, etc. There were beautiful cakes, food and drinks. The parents and families were so excited! Since most families had limited access to the internet, the families were huddled behind the graduates watching the ceremony together. During the ceremony you could see those parents beaming with pride. For some, these were the first to graduate from high school in their family.
We are so proud of these hard-working students!
A few of the graduating students shared about their time at Rey Sabio Salomón School. Alexander shared: "I came to the school from its beginning, at that time it was just a nursery school. The nursery was the foundation of what it is today. Thanks to God and His mercy I have been able to grow together with the school and see its entire construction process and I can really say my school has been my second home."
Fabiana shared: "God has used this school in my life to learn more about Him and His word, so my life has been filled with many blessings not only for me but for my family. It has given me a fuller life thanks to Him and His mercy."
Antony shared: "I came to the school when I was 12 years old. I came from another school where I never heard about God. When I started to learn about Him I discovered I could have a relationship with Him and that impacted my life. This will be the thing I always thank the school for, helping me get to know God."
We’d like to introduce you to our new principal, Sara Cevallos!
Many who have visited Ecuador will remember Sara. She is young, full of energy, always smiling, and eager to innovate for the good of the students. Sara grew up in the community and has been around the school from the very beginning. She knows the people and the history of the school and is deeply committed to their mission.
Some fun facts about Sara:
- She loves reading! Her favorite book is Leadership with a Purpose as it tells the story of Nehemiah and the fidelity of the Lord.
- She just graduated with her Master's degree!
- Sara has been married for almost nine years and has two beautiful daughters: Luciana and Amelia.

COVID-19 Effects on the School
The community directly around the school has been hard hit by COVID-19 in regards to the number of cases and the economic impact. It would not be safe for many of the teachers, who live outside that community, to attend school right now, so they are pleased with the government's decision to have students study remotely. For the past few weeks, the number of cases and deaths have remained steady or declined slightly, so they are praying the worst is over.
It will be up to the government to decide when students will return to the classrooms. As would be expected, there are fewer students enrolled this school year just because of the situation.
Praises and Prayer Requests
- Praise for the first graduating class & a fun ceremony/celebration for the graduates and their families.
- Pray for a smooth transition and future dreams of each graduate
- Pray for the new school year that will begin virtually. Enrollment is down and fears high due to COVID
- Pray for God to guide Sara as she takes on her new responsibilities and sets an exciting new direction for the school's future.

Part of the fun was each graduate was assigned a younger buddy from the school to take throughout the zoo.
