Growing and Learning Together!

Teachers: Samuel and Achenel
Class: Fifth Grade
Region: Deuxième-Plaine

5th Grade Class at Deuxieme-PlaineHow has God shown up in your class?
[Samuel] God has shown up in my classroom through the way my students behave in class. They set good examples for other classes by respecting each other. They are passionate about the word of God, and each school day before they start they pray to God to bless the day for them.

[Achenel] God showed up in my class by their kindness and the respect they have for the whole school. I have seen that they love to read the Bible and always have questions for me about things they don't understand.

What are some notable updates or activities that your class has been a part of? (i.e. holidays, celebrations, traditions)
Due to last year's COVID-19, our classes were unable to participate in many activities, but we can't wait to join in the Flag Day, historic outings, and Labor and Agriculture Day.

Why are these occasions important to your culture?
Flag Day is celebrated every May 18 and symbolizes freedom for us. We celebrate our beautiful flag. We do fun activities with our class, like joining the parade, singing the anthem, and dancing.
We do historical outings to celebrate special commemorative days with the students. We can go to places to mark the event.
Labor and Agriculture is May 1st and we like to participate with other classes to take advantage of the school staff conferences. We explain how to take care of plants and how to be useful to our community.

What is your favorite memory from this year so far? Something that made you laugh? Cry? Praise God?
[Samuel] I was excited to see how happy my students were to return to class. Some did not have a new uniform to put on, but decided to wear the old one until they could wear the new one.

[Achenel] My students sang happy birthday to me and this made me happy because they showed that they care for me.

What are some activities or events that you and your class are looking forward to?
We look forward to participate in Flag Day, historical outings, playing soccer with other classes, and recreation days.

Is there a Bible verse that your class has been studying? Or maybe a verse that5th Grade Class at Deuxieme-Plaine God has put on your heart during this season?
[Samuel] We have been studying Hebrews 12:14. My class enjoys learning about the word God.
[Achenel] We have been studying John 3:16. Our students like to learn new verses every week.

What would you like to say to partners who are supporting the class and students?
[Samuel] I would like to say thank you for your endless support of my class and students. We really appreciate all you have been doing for them in the name of our Savior Jesus Christ. We look forward to continue praying for you to be blessed with good health and for God to continue using in His work.

[Achenel] Thank you for your heartfelt support of my class. May God bless you for bringing joy and happiness in the hearts of my students. We look forward to praying for you and if possible to meet you in the future. May God continue to make positive impacts in your life.
