How has God shown up in your class?
[Monique] God has shown in in my classroom through the way my students behave with each other. They live in harmony and respect each other. When we do devotion, they are always ready to ask questions. If there are things they don't understand when we study Bible verses, they won't hesitate to find the answer from me.
[Joacin] God has shown up in class through some students that I had who had bad attitudes, but now they are much nicer to everyone and willing to cooperate in whatever we do.
What are some notable updates or activities that your class has been a part of? (i.e. holidays, celebrations, traditions)
During our school year, we look forward to participating in recreational and cultural activities. The school administration will organize an interclass football championship within the school. We will also be participating in Flag Day, Labor Day and Christmas.
What was the occasion and why is it important to your culture?
[Monique] Flag Day is an important event in our country; the flag is the symbol of freedom. On this day, my class always participates in the parade in the city and at school, and we do fun activities with them.
What is your favorite memory from this year so far? Something that made you laugh? Cry? Praise God?
[Monique] Since my arrival at this establishment, I have been amazed at the friendship between my students. One day I couldn't come, and I was surprised to see them come to visit me at my house because I had a fever. It made me happy because when they came, they prayed and I was blessed by them.
[Joacin] On my birthday the students sang happy birthday to me. It made me happy to see how they are happy to have us as their teacher.
What are some activities or events that you and your class are looking forward to?
Flag Day, Soccer Championship, Labor and Agriculture Day, Christmas.
Is there a Bible verse that your class has been studying? Or maybe a verse that God has put on your heart during this season?
[Monique] We are studying Psalms 59 verse 15 as a class. We always choose a verse each week to study in class when we do devotion in the first few hours before we start doing other subjects.
[Joacin] Yes, we are studying Job 5 verse 17. We usually study a verse every week in class.
What would you like to say to partners who are supporting the class and students?
[Monique] Thank you for supporting my class; on behalf of my students we are happy to have you. We pray that God will bless you and keep you healthy. We look forward to meeting you in the future if it is God's will. May God's protection be with you during this pandemic in our world.
[Joacin] I would like to tell you that God is proud of what you are doing for these students and we are happy to have you. May God continue to bless and keep you healthy, and we would like to meet you in the future if possible. Thank you again for your sincere support to these students.
