Ocotillo Class Update

Class: 7th Grade
Written by: Karla C.

How has God worked in your class recently?
God has worked in every little detail, from allowing access to the internet so most of the students can  join virtual classes, to sustaining in each family the basic needs. He is showing His faithfulness and love to protect the physical and emotional health of my students.

What are some activities that your class has been a part of?
The students participated in the Student's Camp virtually, two days filled with God's word and strengthening their lives in the spiritual area. We also had the opportunity to celebrate Valentine's Day through Zoom. We played some virtual games and shared snacks. We also celebrated our National Identity and celebrated the Lempira indigenous Day. This is one of the most important celebrations in our culture, it reminds us about our roots and makes us feel proud of who we are and where we come from, we are proud of whatever identifies us as Honduran.

What is your favorite memory from this year so far? Something that made you laugh? Cry? Praise God?
My favorite memory from this year is Valentine's Day celebration, seeing the happy faces of my students sharing together, even through a screen I could feel love from each one of them. They make me feel very happy and continue giving me strength. I will do my best to shape students that are competent and emotionally strong; in the future, these students will make this society a better place.

What are some activities or events that you and your class are looking forward to in the next few months?
Civic Independence celebrations, and the next recreational activities.

Is there a Bible verse that your class has been studying? Or maybe a verse that God has put on your heart during this season?
God has put in my heart Psalm 37:5. “Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him and He will do this.” This verse has helped me maintain my firm faith, to trust the Lord in each situation and believe that He will do great things in my life and in my students’ lives.

What would you like to say to partners that are supporting the class and students?
Thank you so much for your support and generosity. You are the means God uses to make these student's lives a little easier. They can see God working in their lives through you. It is my desire that God continues blessing your lives and fills you with His love.

Prayer Requests:

  • Protection and peace for the community where my students live
  • for the feelings, motivations and desires of each one of my students
  • wisdom, patience for each teacher who works with my students.
