How has God worked in your class recently?
God has allowed us to acquire a virtual platform for the institution and in this way be able to facilitate the educational process in a satisfactory and favorable way for each teacher. It has allowed us to develop more of our knowledge in different areas of study, such as technology, an area that has existed years ago, but we hadn't taken advantage of. Nowadays as time goes by, we are acquiring knowledge in many apps that we can use in the process of teaching-learning. Also, in the slow return to school after the lockdown, God has kept us greatly and we thank the fact that we are still alive. My desire is that God works in each one of the lives of the students, families, neighbors and whoever surrounds them. May God always lead the students in the right way, guiding their steps in each one of the things they do during their life's period in this world.
What are some activities that your class has been a part of?
A very special day in the last 2 years has been Student's Day celebration on June 11. It is a beautiful day as we gather with students and celebrate their moment. I am their grade teacher and have been for the last 2 years. Last year in 2020 they were in 8th grade, we shared a virtual party, we joined a zoom platform and talked about our experience since the pandemic had started. This year there was no exception, and we had a zoom party! On this occasion, we watched a movie called "Blue Miracle". It was a joyful moment, and the students loved the movie and we had fun "virtually". We also congratulate students with good grades and motivate the ones who are struggling with grades.
What is your favorite memory from this year so far? Something that made you laugh? Cry? Praise God?
In the month of July of this year we had a recreational activity. This is a moment we share with the students and have activities such as outside games and traditional games where everyone can participate and have fun. March 13th, 2020 was the last day that the students attended school and they haven’t had much time to be able to share with their classmates and to have fun as they used to before. The institution decided to organize a day for recreation for our grade, and that day the students came to school and we had different activities. We laughed and shared time together, those were unique times for the students and for me as a teacher.
What are some activities or events that you and your class are looking forward to in the next few months?
We are looking forward to the return to school and classes to be able to share with classmates, friends and teachers again. We will be strengthening friendships, kindness, generosity, honesty and other values. We are also excited for the 9th grade graduation.
Is there a Bible verse that your class has been studying? Or maybe a verse that God has put on your heart during this season?
My class has been studying Isaiah 41:6-7. “they help each other and say to their companions, ‘Be strong!’ The metalworker encourages the goldsmith, and the one who smooths with the hammer spurs on the one who strikes the anvil. One says of the welding, ‘It is good.’ The other nails down the idol so it will not topple.”
What would you like to say to partners that are supporting the class and students?
Above all thank you for the amazing support you provide to the students, teachers, administration and staff. Without your support we wouldn’t be able to be here, also thank you for the opportunity you give me to belong to this foundation. My desire is that God continues blessing you so you can continue blessing in the same way this project you have in Honduras. God bless you.
