How has God shown up in your class? Photo of girls in 1st grade at Vieux-Caille
God has shown up in class by keeping my students motivated to learn. They are always happy. They are not afraid to ask me questions that are based about their beliefs. They are eager to learn more about the Bible every day. Their friendship is priceless.

What are some notable updates or activities that your class has been a part of? (i.e. holidays, celebrations, traditions)
We celebrate Flag Day (in May), Christmas, and their birthdays.

What was the occasion and why is it important to your culture?
Flag Day is always a big event for our students to participate. They love to come to school wearing red and blue. It is also an occasion to tell them more about the flag. We celebrate Christmas with our students to let them know about the birth of Christ and why He was born. And, it is always a pleasure to celebrate their birthdays in class. It is an opportunity to let them know that they are important to us and that we love them.

What is your favorite memory from this year so far? Something that made you laugh? Cry? Praise God?
One of my best memories so far this year is that we had many of our students who were celebrating their birthdays on the same day. The students were happy to sing songs and pray for them. Even though they did not receive any gifts from us, they were satisfied and happy!

What are some activities or events that you and your class are looking forward to?
Dancing, soccer, crafts, and singing.

Is there a Bible verse that your class has been studying? Or maybe a verse that God has put on your heart during this season?
We are studying this verse together: John 3, verse 16. We want our students to know how much God loves them and how they are supposed to share their love to one another.

What would you like to say to partners who are supporting the class and students?
We are immensely blessed by you. May God in His endless love continue to bless you for supporting my class. My students are able to come to school because of your support. Without your help, it would have been impossible for us. We will continue to lift you all in our prayers for God to keep you healthy and to protect you from harm.

Prayer Requests:

  • I want you to pray that I have more wisdom and love to share with my students.
  • I would like to see my students progress in their education to read and write well.
  • Also for us to stay healthy so that we can have a great school year.
