How has God shown up in your class? girls in fourth grade at Vieux-Caille
The presence of God appears in my classroom through the way my students behave in the classroom and in the schoolyard. Their friendship is wonderful, and I am happy for their willingness to support others.

What are some notable updates or activities that your class has been a part of? What was the occasion and why is it important to your culture?
Our biggest activity that our students always participate in is Flag Day (May 18). It is a tradition which we must not abandon and they really like participating with us. But we also think about Agriculture Day (May 1st), which is a good tradition to protect our environment and to teach them how to take care of nature.

What is your favorite memory from this year so far? Something that made you laugh? Cry? Praise God?
My favorite memory from the last month was that one of my students was arguing about something and one of them reminded them of the verse they had studied to love and care for each other; this got them to be friends, and they got together, hugged and solved their problem. I didn't have to intervene. It's a blessing when you teach the Bible in school to students.

What are some activities or events that you and your class are looking forward to?
We can't wait to participate in many activities this year. We are planning to: organize a singing competition, take part in the flag celebration, play soccer with other classes, and hold a spelling contest.

Is there a Bible verse that your class has been studying? Or maybe a verse that God has put on your heart during this season?
We have studied many verses in class, but this week we are studying Corinthians 10, verse 31. It is a good initiative to help them grow in the word of God.

4th grade class at Vieux-CailleIs there a student or parent that has stood out to you? How and why?
I have a parent who stood out to me because her child had bad grades in school. I told her it was because she was not doing her part to encourage the child to study more and to do her homework. I was surprised the last time she came to see me and thanked me because her child was much better with her schooling and also getting good grades as well.

What would you like to say to partners who are supporting the class and students?
I want to thank you! Despite what our world is going through, you still have the will to support our class. We pray that the blessing of the Lord will continue to be by your side and protect you from the pandemic that is affecting our world. We will pray for you and your family, as you will for us. May the peace of God be with you.

Prayer Requests:

  • I would like you to pray for my class and me so that we can all stay healthy.
  • I want my students to focus more on their schooling in order to get good grades.
  • Pray that this is a good school year for our students.
