How has God shown up in your class?
Our devotion before class each day has played a great role in the lives of my students. It helps them to be respectful and behave well when in class.
What are some notable updates or activities that your class has been a part of? (i.e. holidays, celebrations, traditions)
We celebrated Christmas and Creole Language Day. Flag Day will be in May. We celebrate Christmas with our students to help them understand the sacrifice that God did for us by giving his only son to die for us so that once again to become his sons and daughters. Creole Language Day is important to us because in the past they did not give much importance to it. To show the importance of our language, there is a special day for our country to celebrate it. During the day the students sing songs and say riddles in Creole. Flag Day (in May) is a big celebration in our country and this is when we explain to them the meaning of each part of the flag and what the different colors stand for.
What is your favorite memory from this year so far? Something that made you laugh? Cry? Praise God?
One day, one of the parents of my students did not come on time to take him home. Two of his friends decided to stay with him until his parents showed up. I was really amazed at how much they care about others.
What are some activities or events that you and your class are looking forward to?
Dancing, soccer, crafts, and singing!
Is there a Bible verse that your class has been studying? Or maybe a verse that God has put on your heart during this season?
We are studying this verse together: John 3:16. We want our students to know how much God loves them and how they are supposed to share their love to one another.
What would you like to say to partners that are supporting the class and students?
We would like to thank each one of you for sharing your love with the students of Vieux-Caille. This place is very vulnerable and not all parents are able to send their children to a good school, but with your support many can come to our school because it is not expensive like the others. May God in His immense love continue to shower His blessing on you for blessing these students.
Prayer Requests:
-
I want you to pray for my class that God will enrich them with good understanding to learn well.
-
As for me, I want you to pray so that I have more love and patience for my students.
-
We want to have a good year of schooling. Only God can make it possible when we rely on Him.
