New Year, New Tools, New Expectations
New Year, New Tools, New Expectations
My name is Norma Castro. I am the teacher in 1st grade. At the beginning of this new school year, I had many dreams, desires, and activities that I wanted to do.
This year I will miss the hugs, having a close relationship, and talking to students about their challenging and happy moments.
This school year is different. The pandemic situation has left us many lessons that make us stronger and stronger, but sometimes I cannot help feeling discouraged, knowing the reality of many of my students. Still, God is with me, giving me the strength and wisdom to get ahead and be able to guide them with the support of their parents.
The first day of classes was exciting, meeting new faces, some scared, others happy, hearing new voices, some low and others very high, and feeling the enthusiasm and desire to start a new school year.
They are all excited about working with their notebooks, pencils, paints, playing games, etc.
This time of the year is full of songs, dances, drawing in the air, enhanced relaxation exercises, etc. It helps them to get to know each other at the beginning. That is very important.
This school year, they will be learning to read, write, and do basic math.
Virtual classes have become a new form of education, in which we have to explore, discover, implement new ways, dynamic strategies to reach all our students.
Prayer Requests:
- That God shows me creative ways to love and help my kids in this new season.
- For the parents who cannot help their children because they have to work.
