New Year, New Tools, New Expectations
My name is Jenny Quintiaquez. I am a 6th grade teacher. The first day was full of expectations and nervousness since it was the first time I began virtually. I was very emotional because I couldn't start the first day giving a big hug to the children.
The first day my students said they were thrilled to start a new school year and happy I would be their teacher. They talked about being bored at home, and that they already wanted to return to school and play with their friends.
We talked about the goals we want for this year, and they made a heart where they wrote all the things they hope for this year. José Luis Vera made his heart glued to cardboard, something very different from the others, and I remembered that he has hearing problems, and he couldn't listen to the instructions I gave them. Nevertheless, he did an excellent job.
Prayer Requests:
- For discernment. It is hard to feel through a screen the reality my students are facing and I want them to feel secure and supported.
- For union in the families of our communities, health and provision.
