Beyond the Meal in Rio Frio

Something special began in Río Frío, a rural village in the mountains of Guatemala. With the support of community mayor Héctor Miguel, the local Lifeline Guatemala team focused on bringing hope and showing God’s love.
As the team arrived at the town square, community members gathered around with hearts filled with gratitude. They were surprised that organizations like Lifeline exist. The day began with prayers and planning, as we aimed to share not just food but also God’s love with every package.

One elderly woman, with tears in her eyes, said, “This food is a blessing, but your kindness is what we’ll remember.” Her words showed how simple acts of love can make a big difference. 

“Every interaction is a chance to show God’s love. We’re not just bringing meals. We’re building lasting friendships,” Pastor Deybee says. Each moment was filled with warmth and laughter.

On delivery day, Lifeline leaders shared where the food came from, preached the good news of the gospel, and closed with a prayer. Afterwards, local leaders within the Río Frío community personally delivered the meals to the rest of their community.

Lifeline Guatemala leaders are committed to returning to Río Frío, building upon the friendships they’ve started, and walking alongside the community as it grows in faith.
