From Lost to Leader

When Kevin was given the opportunity to study God's word in depth in San Pedro Sula alongside other Lifeline students, it sparked something special within him.

In Los Diamantes, high up above Tegucigalpa, Honduras, people struggle to find hope in a community without paved roads or running water. Inside Los Diamantes Christian Church, built through the generosity of Lifeline's community, lives are being transformed.

Lost to Found

Kevin was 15 when his family began to break apart. "My dad moved to another house, and I fought a lot with my family," he says. "I felt alone and helpless." With no high school nearby and limited transportation, his education came to a halt during the pandemic.

But things began to change when Lifeline leaders visited Los Diamantes to distribute meals and share God's Word. Kevin's mom started attending Bible studies, and eventually, a small church was planted in the community. There, Kevin found more than just a building—he found belonging.

Pastor Starky, a Lifeline Pastor in Tegucigalpa, and other mentors noticed Kevin's gift for music and encouraged him to grow as a worship leader. They also introduced him to Lifeline's Bible Institute in San Pedro Sula.

 

A Place of Growth and Purpose

When presented with the opportunity, Kevin eagerly accepted. Over the next two years, he was mentored, trained, and equipped to share his faith with others. The Institute gave him the confidence to preach the gospel and the passion to disciple others.

Today, Kevin is 17 and training to become an electrician. But what brings him the most joy is the spiritual foundation made possible through Lifeline's supporters. He visits homes with Pastor Starky, shares the gospel, and brings the same hope to others that once transformed his own life.
