God can use every gift

“It doesn’t even come close to describing how impactful this session was to me and the girls.”

That’s how Tiffanie described one moment from her mission trip to Honduras.

As an emergency room nurse, Tiffanie is used to helping people through difficult moments. But during her first mission trip with Lifeline, God used her nursing skills in a completely different way.

Tiffanie was asked to lead a session for young girls about puberty, hygiene, and caring for their bodies.

“At first, I questioned whether I was the right person for this lesson,” Tiffanie shared.

The girls were quiet at first. Hesitant.

But slowly, the room began to change.
“Once the ice was broken, hand after hand started raising with questions and comments,” Tiffanie said. “They felt the safe place that was created.”

Using her nursing experience, Tiffanie helped answer questions with kindness and care while creating a space where the girls felt comfortable and respected.

As the conversation continued, fear slowly gave way to confidence. The girls began to understand that the changes happening in their bodies were not something to fear, but part of how God intentionally created them.

“It was encouraging to see them gain confidence and understand their worth,” Tiffanie shared.

For many of the girls, the lesson created space for honest conversations and reminded them they are deeply valued by God.

But the experience also changed Tiffanie.

“This experience strengthened my faith because I saw how God can work through us to encourage and support others, even in situations that feel uncomfortable or unfamiliar,” she shared. “It reminded me that nursing is not only about caring for physical health, but also about showing Christ’s love through compassion, encouragement, and service.”

Sometimes ministry looks like leading a lesson.

Sometimes it looks like listening well, answering questions with kindness, and reminding someone of the value God has placed on their life.

God uses every gift.

Tiffanie simply said yes to serving.

And God used that willingness to encourage young girls in ways she never expected.

There are moments like this happening on Lifeline trips every year. Moments of listening, serving, praying, laughing, and walking alongside communities God is already working in.

You don’t need to have every skill or every answer. You simply need a willing heart.

If you’ve ever considered going on a Lifeline trip, we’d love to invite you to explore upcoming opportunities and see how God may want to use your gifts to encourage others.

Step into your YES!

“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” - James 2:17 (NIV)
