"When I was a child, I always wanted to be a welder. I loved watching how the staff at Lifeline welding center did their jobs. One day, to my great surprise, the supervisor curiously approached me and asked, 'Why do you always come to stare at us?' I bashfully replied, 'I want to become a welder like you!' I felt so lucky when he told me he would teach me the skills every afternoon when I was released from class.
Now today, I have been with Lifeline for four years. My principal duty is to make benches and desks, and that is my passion. I feel blessed that I can work by providing benches and desks for the students at Lifeline's Christian school."
When you purchase a desk for a student, you also provide employment in Haiti and Honduras. It's a double win!
"I remember when I was a little boy, it was always a nightmare every time I went to school and had to sit on a hard, crooked, nailed piece of log that was placed on the ground for me to sit. It was hard for me to write with my thighs serving as my desk.
Dear donors, I am encouraging you all to help, because being comfortable in class is the best way to have a peaceful mind to learn. I hope they don't have to go through the same harsh process I went through.
Yesterday one of our students came to me and asked me, 'When will you start repairing my desk?'"

The goal is to give 150 students a desk! The average price per student is $60. Will you help a student learn better? Will you donate to help build a desk for them? Any amount is greatly appreciated!
