The Story Behind Lifeline’s Meal Packing Mission

The Origins of Meal Packing

Seventeen years ago, Lifeline Christian Mission found a powerful way to unite people in generosity through meal packing. What began as a simple mission to provide nutritious school lunches for students in Haiti quickly grew into something much larger. For many of these children, that school meal was the only food they’d have all day. By partnering with churches across North America, Lifeline ensured that every student had a hot, nutritious meal each day.

But the need was far greater than we ever imagined. Natural disasters, like Haiti’s devastating earthquake, global pandemics, wars, and famines increased the demand for meals. Lifeline’s meal-packing events evolved into a tangible way for North Americans to respond to these crises and reflect God’s love in action.

 

But these meal packs do more than just fill stomachs. They fuel dreams, open doors to education, and give children the chance to thrive. Thanks to you, thousands of kids in Haiti, Honduras, and beyond are nourished and given the opportunity to grow and succeed.

And it didn’t stop there.

Through Lifeline’s six U.S. centers, people from all walks of life have come together with a shared purpose: to pack meals and fight hunger. Volunteers, churches, and communities have witnessed the transformational power of this simple act of service. By working together, we’ve made a real difference in the lives of children and families across the globe.

Together, we’ve packed over 100 million meals, but this story isn’t just about numbers, it’s about YOU. More than 800 schools, churches, and organizations have joined this journey, with over 700,000 volunteers packing and praying over these meals. This celebration is as much yours as it is ours!

A Special Update on Haiti                                                                            

For many of us, Haiti holds a special place in our hearts. It’s where Lifeline’s mission first took root, the meals we’ve sent over the years have brought hope and sustenance to countless families.

Right now, however, we face challenges that have temporarily paused our ability to send meals to Haiti. This is difficult for us, knowing how much those meals mean to children and families. While we don’t know when we’ll be able to resume, we are committed to finding a way forward.

In the meantime, we continue to serve other regions with the same dedication that first led us to Haiti. With your prayers and support, we trust that we will overcome these challenges together.
