COME ALONGSIDE LOCAL LEADERS TO SERVE

Overview
Slowed by the devastation of Hurricane Mitch (1998) as well as political turmoil in the early 2000’s, Honduras has not developed as quickly as some of its Central American neighbors. However, its Caribbean coastline, vast and varied natural resources, and dependable workforce are fueling growth in tourism, manufacturing and development. Hondurans place a high value on family, yet must struggle with insecurity caused by gang violence and recruiting.
Lifeline's ministry focuses on two locations in Honduras: Tegucigalpa and San Pedro Sula. Ministry in the capital city of Tegucigalpa is more urban focused, while ministry near San Pedro Sula focuses on smaller communities outside of the city.
What you might experience on a Lifeline trip...

collaborating with church members in a joint service project within the community

encourage the community through skills training

assisting the local church by providing a kids camp (VBS, sports, music, art, etc.)

Number of team members
Trips consist of 5 -15 people. We intentionally take smaller team sizes for a better overall trip experience for the goers as well as the receivers. This size allows the team to have a more personal experience as they interact with one another and with the community they are going to serve. A smaller team size also allows for deeper conversations and bonding experiences on the field and prevents the location we are visiting from being overwhelmed.Trip length
8 days, 7 nightsDocuments needed
A passport (valid for at least six months after arrival date), online application, background check (provided by Lifeline), and a notarized parental consent form, if needed.Age requirements
For general team trips, team members must be at least 12 years old. For family trips, the minimum age is 7 years old. In Honduras, team members under the age of 21, traveling without a parent, must submit a notarized parental consent form and be accompanied by an adult who will be responsible for the individual’s well-being.Register for your trip
