Overview
Birmingham is a diverse city, home to over 187 nationalities from Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. As Europe's second largest city, it offers a global ministry opportunity and will steal your heart bite-by-bite with each curry, kofta, or doner kebab!
The scenes and cityscape of Birmingham are second to none. Its beautiful canals are more numerous than those of Venice. Villa Park, where Premier League football matches are played, is located in the outskirts of Birmingham. Some visitors may notice a low number of churches and faith-based ministry centers. This is due to Birmingham’s unique post-Christian culture. More churches and ministry centers are needed to provide services for the area’s many refugees and asylum-seekers.

Trip contributions
Trips start at $1500 plus airfare. Includes lodging, most meals, in-field transportation (unless otherwise noted), Lifeline Field Guide, translators, pre-trip training, local ministry operations donation, supporting services, background check, Lifeline t-shirt, and a non-refundable deposit of $100 per person that locks in your date.Please note: Lifeline Christian Mission considers the contributions received for all trips to be tax-deductible; therefore this is non-refundable. Should you need to cancel your trip, trip contributions already sent to Lifeline may be used for a future trip with Lifeline or designated as a ministry donation.
Not included in the trip contribution: Airfare; checked baggage fees; expenses incurred as a result of canceled flights, delays or missed flights for any reason; passport application fees; souvenirs or food at the airports; tourist activities in London, in-field transportation in London, and all costs related to extended stay for any reason.

Trips consist of 4-10 people. We intentionally take smaller team sizes for a better overall trip experience for the goers as well as the receivers. Teams can be as small as 4 people or as large as 8-10 team members.Trip length

Documents needed
A passport (valid for at least six months after arrival date), online application, background check (provided by Lifeline), and a notarized parental consent form, if needed.
Age requirements
For general team trips, team members must be at least 12 years old. For family trips, the minimum age is 7 years old. Team members under age 18, traveling without a parent, must submit a notarized parental consent form and be accompanied by an adult who will be responsible for the individual’s well-being.Register for your trip

Where will I stay?
In Birmingham, teams stay in either an AirBnB or a hotel.
What will I eat?
Most meals will be eaten in local restaurants.
We are unable to accommodate food allergies, sensitivities, or preferences. Occasionally, we can purchase some gluten-free ingredients, but we would not know what is available until we arrive. Participants with food allergies or sensitivities are encouraged to purchase supplemental food when they arrive at a local market.

What is the contribution schedule?
When is the deposit due?
The deposit for all Lifeline trips is $100, and it is due upon application.

50% of the balance is due 90 days before the trip.

Will I be safe?
The safety of your group is top priority, as we’re sure it is for you. There is always a risk involved when traveling. In all the areas you will serve, extra precautions are taken to make sure you or your group is as safe as possible.
- Guided by our local, experienced ministry staff, we avoid situations that are inherently dangerous.
- We require our staff and participants over age 18 to undergo a background check.
- We review safety procedures during orientation.
- Lifeline Field Guides have first aid training.
- Lifeline Field Guides have the direct phone number to the local Field Leader, US Lifeline staff members and a US nurse.
- Teams will have access to a first aid kit.
- Team members are not permitted to ever go off alone.
